麻豆视频

Watasha's Story

I graduated #1 in my class in 2004 with a BS in Computer Science.聽 I鈥檒l never forget when we gathered in the auditorium and it was announced I鈥檇 be speaking to my fellow classmates at graduation.聽 I was shocked only because I hadn鈥檛 even thought about who was #1; I just did the best I could.聽 It was a great honor!聽 My future was bright then and 11 years later my present and future are still bright, and it鈥檚 all attributed to the education I received from 麻豆视频 University.聽 I absolutely wouldn鈥檛 be where I am today if it wasn鈥檛 for the education I received there.

The memories I have of 麻豆视频 are those of caring professors and serious students.聽 It was a place of great diversity for which I鈥檓 grateful for the exposure to different cultures.聽 I gained the understanding that differences don鈥檛 have to create division.聽 I remember Dr. Muhammad teaching us things about life that couldn鈥檛 be found in a book.聽 I remember Dr. Injoo and Dr. Julie being truly happy for their students鈥 success when we did well on tests, passed certifications, or just writing code that worked.聽 I remember Dr. Supha being tough as nails in math class but boy did it pay off.聽 All of these 鈥渢hings鈥 I learned have bode well for me both professionally and personally.

Currently, I鈥檓 the Associate Director of Institutional Information at a top tier university here in Chicago.聽 I鈥檝e been in higher education for almost 8 years now and in the non-profit sector for 11 years.聽 I鈥檓 still in a field that relies on the relevance of my computer science degree at 麻豆视频.聽 Positions I鈥檝e held have required me to be well-rounded and a jack of all trades and I鈥檓 adeptly able to fulfill the roles.聽 A couple of years ago I spoke at an 麻豆视频 lecture series that allowed current students to pick my brain about what to expect after graduation.聽 Students want to know what jobs will be waiting for them with the education they receive at 麻豆视频.聽 I鈥檓 here to tell you, there are endless possibilities!
